CHARIOT FIRE AND SECURITY

Commercial and Public Sector: Total Security Solutions

We supply, install and maintain disabled refuge systems throughout Staffordshire, Derbyshire, The Midlands and surrounding areas.

Disabled Refuge

All Chariot Fire and Security disabled refuge systems are installed to the latest BS5839-Part 9 standards.

Current building regulations require that non domestic buildings with more than one floor require refuge areas/safe places for people that cannot easily use fire escapes.

Installing a simple two way communication system in the refuge areas allows two way communication to the fire and rescue service, allowing them to determine where assistance is required, and to reassure people that help is on the way.

  • Multizone disabled refuge stems
  • Disabled toilet alarm

Our systems have been installed in a variety of public sector, commercial, industrial and domestic premises including care homes, rehabilitation centres, nursing homes, doctors surgeries, schools and colleges as well as offices, warehouses and industrial units.

What is a Disabled Refuge?

A disabled refuge provides a safe waiting area with two-way communications in the case of emergency. This is designated specific areas of a building which are regarded as comparatively safe in the case of a fire or other similar emergency. In the UK it is a legal requirement that any non-domestic building with more than one storey has such an area where those who are not so easily able to escape can call for assistance and wait.

Chariot Fire and Security install and maintain disabled refuge systems  throughout Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire, The Midlands and surrounding areas for the private and public sector.
